Anna Hung
Student Intern | EMDR Trained
Hi, I'm Anna (she/her)! I am a Couple and Family Therapy graduate student at Seattle University, graduating in summer 2027. Before moving to Seattle, I worked as a pharmacist in Taiwan. That work in healthcare shaped my belief that emotional and physical well-being are deeply connected, and that each person deserves to be understood as a whole.
Some of what I understand about healing, I have learned not in a classroom but as a foster parent to cats. Many of the cats I have cared for arrived carrying their own histories of fear and hurt, and much of their healing did not come from anything I did. It came from the safety of the relationship itself, from being met with patience and given the safe space to trust in their own time. I see the same truth in therapy. The relationship we build is itself part of the healing.
I currently work with couples and individual adults ages 18 and older. I am EMDR-trained and integrate EMDR with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, systemic approaches, and mindfulness. My style is collaborative and engaged, and my approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and LGBTQ+ affirming.
I am especially passionate about intergenerational trauma and the ways family histories, cultural expectations, migration experiences, and survival patterns can continue to shape our emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Patterns that once helped us or our families survive may become limiting in the present. In therapy, we can explore where these patterns came from, honor the strengths within them, and thoughtfully decide what you want to carry forward.
As an immigrant and cisgender woman of color, I understand that culture, family, identity, and social context influence how we experience the world. At the same time, I know that my experiences are not the same as yours. I honor the unique identities, values, and experiences that shape who you are. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to listen with curiosity and collaborate with you as we explore what meaningful change may look like for you.
When I am not spending time with my cats, I enjoy wandering Seattle's parks and seeking out restaurants from many different cultures. Seeing Mount Rainier in the distance each day reminds me to feel grateful for the wonder I get to live within.
